Killers Of The Flower Moon Movie Review: The Osage Indian murders happened in Oklahoma, USA, in the early 1900s. A lot of Osage people were killed because the land they lived on had oil on it. In 2017, author David Grann wrote a book about these murders and how the FBI got its start because of them. There is now a movie based on this book.

In 1897, oil was found on land owned by the Osage Indians in Oklahoma. When Oklahoma became a state, the government gave each Osage person 657 acres of land. People of color in the movie were very greedy. They killed Osage women after marrying them to get their land. Some people were killed with poison.
Anna Brown was an Osage woman who was killed in 1921. This is what got the FBI going. In 1926, they jailed William King Hale and his nephew Ernest Burkhart. Ernest gave proof that his uncle did something bad. A wealthy Osage woman named Mollie Kylie was his bride. His uncle told him to do it. Mollie’s family started dying in strange ways after she got married.
The movie’s title means that little flowers can die when bigger plants grow on top of them. It’s like what happened to the Osage. Leo DiCaprio plays Burkhart, and Robert De Niro plays Hale in the movie. Natasha Gladstone, who is Native American, plays Mollie Burkhart. The film shows how Burkhart and his family killed a lot of Osage people. Hale was able to kill key witnesses, but Ernest’s testimony caught him in the end.
It lasts for three and a half hours. Despite how nice they seemed, some white people hated their Native American neighbors. It shows that the whole white community took part. In one scene, white people tell Ernest not to say anything bad about his uncle. The movie also shows how Mollie’s husband poisoned her over time.
This movie has a lot of talking, but it’s interesting. The film is not the same as the book. It shows more of the point of view of white people. It looks like an old movie because it was shot with old cameras. The film has excellent scenes and music.
Robert De Niro does a great job as Hale, showing his different sides. Lily Gladstone does a great job as Mollie. Her eyes show how sad she is. Leonardo DiCaprio shows how his character goes from being good to being bad. The story and acting in the movie make it worth seeing. It tells a sad story about the United States.
